Beartooth Labs builds, improves, and manages websites for flight schools, FBOs, charter operators, aircraft service companies, airports, and other aviation businesses. Customers work directly with the person doing the technical work.
What we are
Beartooth Labs is a web partner for aviation businesses. We design and develop websites, improve existing ones, connect them to the systems around them, and keep them running afterward.
Search visibility is part of that work, not a separate identity. A flight school website that looks finished but cannot be found for regional training searches is not finished. The same is true of an FBO site that hides hours, a maintenance shop that never names the aircraft it works on, or an airport site that a small staff cannot update.
We work with aviation companies throughout the United States. Missoula is where the company is based, not a service-area limit.
Who's behind it
Tyler Ewald
Founder, Beartooth Labs · Missoula, MT
Tyler founded Beartooth Labs and is the person you work with. He is a web engineer with a background in software and website development. He does the analysis, writes the code, walks through the findings, and stays responsible for the site afterward when that's part of the engagement.
How we work
- Direct communication. There is no account-manager layer. Questions go to the person doing the work.
- Engineering, not campaigns. We don't sell ads, branding packages, or social media management. We build and maintain websites and the technical systems around them.
- Search during the build. Crawlability, structure, structured data, and performance are decided while the site is being made.
- Facts before adjectives. Recommendations come with reasons. Where an outcome can't be promised — rankings, AI mentions — we say so.
- You own everything. Code, content, domain, and accounts stay yours. Documentation is part of the handoff.
What we are not
We are not a marketing agency, an aviation consultancy, or an airport operations firm. We do not operate aircraft or hold aviation certificates. We do not manufacture hardware, and we are not affiliated with the similarly named company that makes mesh-radio communication devices.
Past software engineering and web development experience is what the company is built on. The specialization is aviation websites — because that is the industry we choose to serve, and because the web problems there are specific enough to be worth knowing well.
The name
Beartooth Labs operates legally as Beartooth Labs Software LLC, based in Missoula, Montana. The public brand is Beartooth Labs.
